Merc Characters and Talon painted

After the grind that was painting 40+ Trencher models I decided to treat myself to some character models.

I picked up Rutger Shaw really cheap in mk2 and am glad to see he got some buffs. Not sure how often he will see play to be honest, but I have been using his model in the Iron kingdoms RPG I run as an antagonist.

Poor Taryn, back before Ace was released she was an auto include in my Caine2 lists for her shadow fire shots. Now the Gunmage Captain Adept does it better than she does...

I really struggled for years to figure out how to paint her choosing the colours for her was particularly difficult. In the end I stuck with an old adage from the Navy "keep it simple, stupid!"
I'm happy with how she has turned out.

Sylys... man I dislike this model. Its likely why I have avoided painting him for so long.
Well hes done now and I know its not my best work but I don't really care... sad but true

This Talon light warjack was bought for my RPG group as they currently own one and we like to use models that represent things as well as we can.

I added some packs and bags to his back and hip to make it look more like it gets used to carry around a bunch of the parties gear for them.

I painted it's armour to match Rutger Shaw's as he is the most likely Jack marshal I would run a Talon with currently.

What do you think of these guys?

Barn terrain Painted

I got my barn from Renedra painted up, didn't take too long in the end.

I gave the barn a variety of washes and watered down paints.  Some to simulate green mold near the rotten parts and others to randomly dirty it up and weather it.

What do you think of the barn now its painted?
Hoping to soon have enough terrain for a full table!

Sturgis & Jakes Painted - plus Jr league

My local PG is running a Journeyman league and I couldn't decide which caster to use, so I let one of my local players choose for me.
He randomly scrolled through war room and ended up choosing Sturgis!

As I am only playing painted these days it meant Sturgis got pushed up the painting priority list.
Seeing as Jakes is his pupil in the fluff and she is quite similar in style I decided to paint them together.

Sturgis is a really detailed and dynamic model, I put his head on facing the wrong way as I wanted the pose to be different. Having his spear facing backwards looks a lot cooler to me

"Come at me bro!"

Jakes has been on my "to do" list for a long time, glad shes finished

Another really detailed sculpt took a long time to paint but happy with the end result.

So this is the 0 point list I have come up with for week one a humble Ironclad and a Defender, its actually 2 points down but meh I'm playing Sturgis

What do you think of my Sturgis & Jakes?

Skarre2 pinning extreme!

I got a commission to pin Skarre2 for one of my local players, she comes in quite a few parts.

With how fiddly she is I had to use a hand drill to pin her rather than my dremel which took a lot longer but meant I didn't accidentally drill though the side of her.

I pinned both arms and her leg to ensure she is less likely to come apart.

Both smoke stacks pinned this was the easiest part

The trickiest part was pinning her horns...

And here she is finished, hopefully she is now solid as a rock.

Do you pin all your models? Since I moved house and a bunch of my models broke I have pinned everything new I have gotten.
