Model Review: Heist Expansion with Princess Delores

Today we take a look at the Heist Expansion with Princess Delores. Delores is a Gunner class hero in Riot Quest and a Mercenary solo for Warmachine.

The Heist Expansion is a new game mode for Riot Quest, which involves the security bots represented by the three miniatures and the card deck which controls their actions.

Delores comes in two parts, this main body has fantastic detailing especially on her dress which should make it really interesting to paint. I think I will ask my daughter to help me pick what colour to choose.

She is seriously well armed. braces of pistols can be seen here.

More pistols on this side too.

In game terms I hate these miniguns... they are more powerful than the chaincannons on the Stormwall... it makes no sense to me.

Her head, left arm and the bazooka strapped across her back is the other part of her. The way they connect together is interesting and has allowed for a more interesting angle of holding her arms out.

These are the main body parts for the three different bots.

This is the alarm style bot with a big megaphone looking attachment.

This one looks a little like a Scutter from Red Dwarf. This alone has picked my colour scheme for these bots!

For some reason I lost the pics of the zap bot. Not sure how that happened, sorry...

They each have two of these mini tank treds which are the same regardless of which side they go on which makes it easy to assemble them.

Here they are fully assembled.

And with Professor Pendrake for scale.

I like the look of the bots but I will be putting them on 30mm bases like I have for other Riot Quest tokens and non hero models.

Delores is one of the Riot Quest models I think doesn't fit in well with the Warmahordes aesthetic, but does fit in really well in Riot Quest.

Over all these are really nice sculpts with hardly any clean up. I am really looking forward to painting up the Princess as I can see there being a lot of scope for trying out new colours or techniques.
For Warmachine players it is annoying that a solo as desirable as the Princess is tied to a Riot Quest add on which is understandable.

Model Review: Tubbin

Today we take a look at Tubbin who is a Guard class hero in Riot Quest and a Mercenary/Minion solo in Warmachine and Hordes.
As most readers will know I have a soft spot for gobbers so some bias is going to be on show here...

He comes in two metal parts.

The main body with the shield is really nicely cast with really characterful details. Its really nice to get another model in Ironhead armour, especially a gobber. The patched-together homemade feel to the armour is really nice.

On the back, you can see a large attachment point where the boiler will be.

The right arm, axe, and boiler fit on pretty well. Some people might want to pin them, I didn't feel the need to though.

There are some slight mold lines running down the boiler, these took a few seconds to file off no big deal.

And here he is fully assembled.

Scale shot with Professor Pendrake.

And here are a few different gobbers to compare him to. He fits in nicely with the rest of the range.
This is a really nice mini with tons of character, I think it will be a great one for even IKRPG players to pick up for an Ironhead gobber character or NPC, a weapon swap would be very easy to do as well if a player wanted to mix it up.
Everyone should pick up this mini, who doesn't want a little goblin in steam powered armour?

Model Review: Dreyfus & Flubbin Storm Patrol

Today we take a look at Dreyfus & Flubbin Storm Patrol who are a Scout/Guard class heroes in Riot Quest and a Mercenary/Minion solo which is also partisan for Cygnar in Warmachine and Hordes.

They come in three metal pieces

Dreyfus's body is the main bulk of the model, with attached blast/jet/cloud effects to attach it to the base. I will paint these to match the ones I did for Flubbins base. The suit of armour is an upgraded version of Dreyfus's first version including leg mounted booster jets.

It has a very large attachment point with a long slot to place the upper body and arms onto the lower body. I found this connection to be good and didn't require pinning.

Dreyfus's upper body is nicely detailed and also includes Flubbins feet. Sadly the voltaic lance is slightly bent, I was careful when straightening it as there is always the chance it could snap when doing so.

Here you can see the oval attachment point for the jet pack and Flubbin.

Flubbin and the jet pack are nicely cast and she matches the look of her previous version nicely.

And here they are fully assembled.

Scale shot with Professor Pendrake.

And scale shots with their previous versions.

Dreyfus got a little bit larger in scale which makes sense otherwise Flubbin would make the model feel very top heavy.

Flubbin got a little bit smaller, but she was pretty big for a gobber in her first version.

This model is nicely cast with very few mold lines and went together really nicely.
It has a really nice dynamic flight pose which really sells the 90s cartoon kinda look.
I'm not a huge fan of how it looks in the context of my Cygnar army but it will be a fine addition to my Riot Quest collection.
