November Trencher Releases Painted

I finished up all the remaining Trenchers! Really pleased to have these done so I can get them into lists at last!

The Blockhouse is a strange model, I'm not quite sure how it will preform on the table. It was pretty easy to paint though. I am unsure if I will pick up a second one of these, I will see how this one goes and decide later.

Express crew painted up quite nicely, it was a shame that they are in such fixed poses. I would have liked to have a little more variety but its not the hugest problem.

I painted his hand holding the binoculars separately, which is unusual for me, but I really wanted to be able to paint his face without the hand in the way.  

Ok sooo... Harrison Gibbs.... I actually painted him over a year ago when he came out in Nov 2016 (I wanted to use him with Stryker2 in a tournament so he got painted asap!)

I realised a few weeks ago that I never got round to posting him up on my blog, so here he is now!

Trencher Combat Engineers were fun to paint, as I had the general Trencher colour scheme sorted I didn't have to pick colours on most of their details. It was only when it came to their extra equipment that I had to make some choices. 

I'm not sure if I will pick up any more units of these guys, I will see how these ones preform first.

The Trencher Commando Command Attachment. He is just what commandos have been waiting for!
I have been excited to get him on the table since I saw his initial rules on the CID forums. I will be trying him out with Siege2 (as he is the newest of my casters) first. Then I have plans to try him with Stryker2 and Jakes2.

I figured a shot of him with his unit was in order!

Trencher Solos Painted

Here's the last of the October Trencher releases painted! These three solos were good fun to paint, and I can't wait to get them on the table at last!

I'll start with my favourite of these models the Patrol dog! He was really easy to paint and I really like how he turned out. I can't wait to see what shenanigans he gets up to...

Hitch was a straight forward model to paint, because I decided to keep all my trenchers in the same colours that uniformity meant I only had to choose colours on a few details on him.

I love how much of a badass the Trencher warcaster lieutenant is. He really looks like he would have no issues messing things up in combat!

He was a lot of fun to paint up, I had to deviate from the standard trencher colour scheme a little to keep him more in line with other warcaster models armour.

What do you guys think of my Trencher solos?

I'm excited to get them on the table and see what they are capable of.

Trencher Long gunners Painted

Trencher Long gunners join the fight! These guys painted up quite easily for me as I based their colour scheme on my other trencher units. Not having to pick what colours to use makes things paint up much quicker for me!

These two are the unique sculpts in the unit, the unit leader is on the left and the command attachment on the right. I can't see myself not using the command attachment with this unit he offers them so much its basically an auto include for me.

Here is one of each of the three grunt sculpts, nice variation of poses for the unit, and they look good ranked up with the kneeling guys in front of the aiming standing ones. It reminds me a little of Zulu "first rank FIRE! second rank FIRE!"

At a request (because I paint so many units I guess) I took pictures of every step while painting this unit and will be making a unit painting guide soon so be sure to check back for that if it interests you.

Trencherpocalypse Painted

Its finally done! The Trenchpocalypse is over... this has been the biggest painting project I have ever completed. This is 95 points of Trencher models...

First up Trencher Infantry with Command attachment and three weapon attachments, plus an extra weapon attachment for my other unit that I painted over two years ago. I have matched my old paint job but I feel I have improved over the last two years so the old unit will have to get some touch ups at some point.

The Chain gun is a neat model, the covering fire changing from a 3" aoe to a wall template is a big improvement  

The loader for the chaingun is a giant, really tall man compared all the other trenchers even kneeling he's nearly the same height as a standing man.

The Cannon crew have some really great looking models full of character, they were a joy to paint among the other trencher units

I love how this guy has a bunch of firing plans or orders in a pouch and in his hand.

Solos and characters

Murdoch was a fun model, he has the same style as the commandos but a lot more weathered and torn clothes.

The toughest man alive Maxwell Finn!

I tried my best to paint his face with as much detail as I could. Things I normally don't do for models in units. I tried to give him stubble (looks better in real life the light makes it hard to get a decent picture)

Trencher master gunners! I have two of these guys, not sure I will use two in one list but hey they are done now and I have the choice to use two should I want to.

I like the way this Trench buster looks like he's running.

These Ogrun were really fun to paint, and they are huge easily the size of a light warjack

This one I put his foot up on the sandbags which makes it look more like he's aiming a gunshot. This makes the two of them look different enough

And thats it! It was a hell of a grind at times painting these all at once but once they started coming together it was very satisfying. I have now painted all available Trencher models.

There is a character solo Major Harrison Gibbs which is set to be released in November, but he should be quite easy to paint up in the same style.
