Lieutenant Gwen Keller Painted

Gwen Keller from the Company of Iron box set is painted!

She was quite easy to paint up as I have my Storm knight colour scheme fully sorted at this point.

I'm not sure how often (if ever) she will see the table, but I wanted her painted up at least!
I think if she had a rule like "Leadership: Small base Storm knights gain Force barrier" she would see play for sure.

What do you think of Gwen Keller? Do you use her?

3 RPG/Proxy models Painted - Reaper miniatures

Here are a few minis which I painted up to use in the Iron Kingdoms RPG, as well as proxy stand in models for Warmachine.
All of these three models are Reaper Bones, which is the white plastic versions of Reapers models. Sometimes they can be lacking in detail in places or have details merge into one another but they are cheap and great for RPG minis.

This model is called Anwyn in the Reaper line but I use her for a gender swapped Rhupert Carvolo. I stole the idea from Trollock on the PP painting forums you can find his much better painted version here

She was a fun mini to paint though i often worried that the model might snap off the base at her ankles...

Rebecca next to Rhupert jamming presumably...

Reaper calls this mini Oswald the overladen, I have used him to represent a NPC that the party hired in my campaign of Iron kingdoms RPG. The party got very fond of this guy in the end, always trying to make him more of an active party member and less of a pack rat. He had no aptitude for combat however and nearly died on quite a few occasions...

Painting all the different things he is hauling around was a interesting challenge, I like how the green bottle ended up looking, and he had a whole plucked chicken hanging from his pack!

Arran Rabin as Reaper call this mini I used as an antagonist who fought the party on a few different occasions. She is an Alchemist/Cutthroat who used her alchemical grenades to hamper the parties efforts to catch her.

I also like to have her as an gender swapped option for Gorman Di Wulfe

I'm guessing they are discussing new formula to put in their grenades?

What do you think of these RPG/Stand in models? I really like Reapers line of minis and have a few more that are wip on my painting table, so expect to see a few more of them in the future!

Constance Blaize Custom Soul Counter

So I made a custom soul counter for Blaize!
I have wanted to do this for a while, though I haven't felt the need to play her much in mk3 I wanted to make it as a hobby project.

I wanted the knights to look like they are dying with their souls just leaving their bodies to represent Blaize's feat. I sculpted the souls, they aren't my best work but I'm happy enough with them.
I also drilled into the knights at a few points to represent bullet wounds, painting the blood coming from the wounds was a fun effect to paint I haven't done much painting like that before.

I contacted Privateer Press's lore master Doug Seacat to ask about souls being collected by a "good" source. I have only seen them collected by cryx in the artwork which has them green looking and they have a tortured look. He told me they could look silvery or blueish, so I went with blue as I wanted them to differentiate from the silver of the knights.

The counter goes all the way up to 20, though I doubt I will ever have it get that high!
I painted Blaize and her knightly forces back in May 2015 you can see them here if you want to
in better detail, but here are all my Morrowan forces gather together!

So what do you think of my custom soul counter? Really hoping Blaize gets some love with new models or rules changes.

November Trencher Releases Painted

I finished up all the remaining Trenchers! Really pleased to have these done so I can get them into lists at last!

The Blockhouse is a strange model, I'm not quite sure how it will preform on the table. It was pretty easy to paint though. I am unsure if I will pick up a second one of these, I will see how this one goes and decide later.

Express crew painted up quite nicely, it was a shame that they are in such fixed poses. I would have liked to have a little more variety but its not the hugest problem.

The spotter having a moustache allowed me to get my "have a ginger in every unit" fix.
I painted his hand holding the binoculars separately, which is unusual for me, but I really wanted to be able to paint his face without the hand in the way.

Ok sooo... Harrison Gibbs.... I actually painted him over a year ago when he came out in Nov 2016 (I wanted to use him with Stryker2 in a tournament so he got painted asap!)
I realised a few weeks ago that I never got round to posting him up on my blog, so here he is now!

Trencher Combat Engineers were fun to paint, as I had the general Trencher colour scheme sorted I didn't have to pick colours on most of their details. It was only when it came to their extra equipment that I had to make some choices.
I'm not sure if I will pick up any more units of these guys, I will see how these ones preform first.

The Trencher Commando Command Attachment. He is just what commandos have been waiting for!
I have been excited to get him on the table since I saw his initial rules on the CID forums. I will be trying him out with Siege2 (as he is the newest of my casters) first. Then I have plans to try him with Stryker2 and Jakes2.

I figured a shot of him with his unit was in order!

So thats all my Trenchers finished! What do you think of my trencher colour scheme?

5 Years of Wargaming with LuckGod!!!

My Blog is 5 years old!

To celebrate, I have decided to do a series of giveaways.

How to enter

There are three ways to enter, each of which will give you a ticket into the draw (for a maximum of three entries per person).

This will allow me to only enter active Subs/Follows into the draw to avoid prizes going to someone that liked/Followed years ago and now have an inactive account.

I plan to draw the winners live on twitch, they will also be announced on all of the above platforms.
I will contact winners via the method that won them a prize.
I am aiming to draw the winners at the end of the month.

Now on to the good bit... the prizes!

For five years of blog posts, I'm giving away five separate prizes!

I will write a tactica on a model/unit in Warmachine/Hordes of the winners choice

If the choice is something I haven't much experience using, there will be a longer wait for the article while I get more table time with the model/unit. If the choice is outside of the factions I play it will have to be entirely theory based!

I will let the winner write my army list, which I will play in a doubles tournament in February.

Anything in Cygnar as I have it all fully painted, and limited options if the winner wants me to play Mercenaries. I will make batreps for this tournament and post them to this blog and YouTube.
I will write a rules explanation article for Warmachine/Hordes on a topic the winner picks.

This would be in the same style as the ones I have written about Gunfighter and Journeymen Warcasters.

I will do a pinning/greenstuff/magnetising commission up to the value of £20

Exact details of what this would entail are very flexible so I would work this out with the winner.

You get to pick the fate of the black 13th

As I have the resculpted Black 13th fully painted I have no need for the old tiny versions. So it will be up to the winner to decide what happens to the old unit.
Want them smashed with a hammer? Burnt in a fire? Covered in glue? Dipped in paint? As long as its within my means, and isn't illegal it will happen!
And the sentence will be carried out by my buddy who plays Trollbloods. His army suffered at their hands for many years so he's keen for payback!
I will film the results and post them to YouTube, if possible this might also be live streamed on Twitch.

Their fate is yours to choose!

So a big thanks to everyone who has read my blog over the last 5 years, if it wasn't for you all reading and commenting I wouldn't still be doing it!
Best of luck to everyone who enters, I look forward to seeing what the winners pick for their prizes!
