Commodore Cannon Painted

Commodore cannon painted! This was 2nd hand so was missing the skeleton and the stack of cannonballs but I'm ok with that. Being on a £0 hobby budget means that most of the minis I get are 2nd hand. Does mean a little extra work to strip the old paint and there might be missing parts, but I'm a hobbyist so a bit of extra work to keep the cost down is well worth it for me!  

The cannon is quite a beast! It's quite weighty being fully metal. I would hate to drop it, as it was quite hard to get it to attach to its base. I had to use green stuff to make it stay put.

The 3 gun crew are nice enough looking minis, they are slightly smaller in scale than the rest of the pirates but not enough that it looks weird.

Sea dogs with Riflemen and Mr Walls

Max unit of Sea Dogs with the rifle attachments and Mr Walls Painted! These guys were a ton of fun to paint. Like the Press gangers I painted I had originally wanted to convert some of them to avoid the "clone" issue. But time and money meant that I settled of making sure their clothes all got painted differently.

There are some really nice scuplts in this unit, I especially like the guy in the middle here with the beard, he looks like he got lost on the way to the shops and had weapons pushed in his hands!

Mr Walls the toughest pirate around! I love the little monkey on his shoulder, such a cool extra detail.

So what do you guys think of my Sea dogs? 

I will hopefully have the pirate character solos and the commodore cannon posted up soon!

Press Gangers Painted

I got my two units of Press Gangers painted! Wow these guys took a long time... 

I put a accent colour on each unit, red on one blue the other. A nice way to tell the two units apart I think.

Front and back shots of one of each sculpt type. I did something a little lazy if I'm honest and didn't paint the glow from the lamps properly... I couldn't find the will to do it. I might go back in the future and do it, but for now they will do. They are a cheap unit anyway...

I really love the character in these models they do look great. I had originally intended to convert them all so that there were no repeated sculpts (changing heads and weapons for example) but I didn't have the funds to buy decent conversion parts so I decided not to bother.

Magnetised Stormwall/Hurricane Painted

My magnetised Hurricane/Stormwall is painted!

The coils are ok maybe not my best work but they will do for now... I really wanted to get this guy ready for the table (as I only play painted) I can always go back and work on them more later.

And here it is with all the Stormwall parts!

I asked you guys for suggestions on what to do for the basework and doing a trench base won!

I wanted him stomping through the edge of the trench utterly oblivious of the work he is ruining. 

I wanted the soil at the impact point to look different, moister soil as it has just been thrown up.

A few sandbags and the planking have been thrown up in the damage.

I painted the magnetised parts red and green for left and right (showing my Navy roots here...) this is to make it really easy to swap the parts out whenever I want to.

Heres a side by side with my old school Stormwall. Which will now only ever be used if I run double colossal (which I currently am due to being excited to have them both painted now!)

The arm socket is painted too! As the magnet is "floating" in the arms ball joint I can pose the arms how I want.

Brickhouse Painted

Brickhouse is painted! This puts me back to having all my character warjacks painted!

I reposed him a little with a twist of his hips and raising one leg up onto the rocks to make a more dynamic pose. That combined with changing where he holds the hammer reduces the "crossing guard" look he has become known for.

I magnetised him to make it easier to transport him and get his arms out of the way should they get in the way during the course of a game.
