Riot Quest Treasure Chests Painted

Quick post today, I painted up the treasure chests for Riot Quest!
I put them onto 30mm bases as I wanted to paint the rims of the bases to match the hero class that can open them for free. This only applies to the treasure deck in the base game though, the treasure deck which comes with Flugwug and these chests has different requirements to open them for free based on things like various stats.
I did this to make it a little easier to remember which is which and also make them easier to pick up as well.

The wood grain was easy to paint and really allowed me to give it a weathered look. The chest on the right I was struggling to figure out what colour to paint it that wouldn't clash with the orange base rim, dark grey worked pretty well. I also gave it the same blue "powered" look I use on a lot of models.

The Safe on the left I actually wanted to look quite plain and boring, so I'm actually pleased with how it turned out. The "laser mine" on the right reminds me of the old WW2 sea mine (deactivated) that was on the beach I grew up near. I tried to paint the red laser bits as if they have a shiny look to them.

The clockwork chest on the left reminded me a lot of the Convergence aesthetic with its cogs and gears so I painted it in a similar colour palette to other Convergence models I have painted. I like how it turned out. The safe built into the rock was the most fun to paint for me, I really like the mushrooms growing out of the rock round the back and wanted to paint them in a way which makes them stand out so I went with red with white spots.

I love that Privateer Press made physical models for things like these treasure chests and the Spawn gates. If they hadn't I would have likely tried to make my own as I really like having that visual element to games I play.
