General Thunderstone Brug is a Specialist class hero in Riot Quest and a Trollbloods solo in Hordes. He comes in two metal parts.
This sculpt is very nicely detailed with lots of small decorative aspects like his medals and sunglasses which really add character to the model.
There is a round dent for the arm to attach on the shoulder, which seems like it would hold the arm in place securely.
The great coat he's wearing looks to be from a trencher so I will paint it to match my trencher army.
I think I'm going to paint the medals to match a mix of my Grandfathers WW2 medals, and my ones (I'm ex Navy for people who don't know)
It will be a challenge to paint coloured stripes onto something that small but I'm keen to give it a try.

They even sculpted wrapping lines on the cigar he's holding! I've a few models which have cigars but I don't remember any of them having this level of detail. I will be trying to improve my "lit cigar" painting as well with this one.
The arm piece is holding a heavy pistol which is nicely detailed, the shoulder armour is definitely from a trencher officer and has a hidden detail. The rank symbol on the shoulder pad is for a Major, though Brug calls himself a General so it seems to be a self appointed rank and just a random piece of armour looted from some unfortunate soul...
The connection point looks good and with the armour place almost hugging onto the body I see no issues at all with getting it to stay on securely.
Very slight mould lines on the underside of the gun arm, nothing which took more than a minute to fix.
And he is assembled, I really like the pose and am looking forward to painting him.
And here is the scale shot with Professor Pendrake. He's the perfect size for a Pyg.
I'm looking forward to painting him up with his gear and uniform in the same colours as my Cygnar due to it being "looted" from them.

I'm tempted to convert up the IKRPG Pyg models I have and paint them at the same time as him... (curse my batch painting obsession) but I'm going to try and resist the urge.

Great review, looking forward to seeing him pained.
ReplyDeleteWhat skin colour are you going to use?
Thanks! I'm going to be going with the classic blue trollbloods skin. I've already a few trollkin models painted like Boomhowler and Co
